Our Services
We’re practicing professionals who are passionate about supporting children and families through individual therapy sessions in our local community. Our approach is centred on therapeutic goals, holistic family collaboration, and — above all — having fun along the way.
Our ultimate aim as therapists is simple: for you and your family to no longer need us. We want to equip you with the confidence, tools, and understanding to “helping you to do it alone.”
We are currently based in Townsville, North Queensland, and offer face-to-face sessions by appointment only.
For families outside this area, we also provide Telehealth sessions, depending on your child’s needs and family preferences.
We’re registered in both Australia and the United Kingdom, allowing us to offer Telehealth support for families located in the UK as well.

What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy helps your child do the things they need and want to do in everyday life.
Occupational Therapists group daily activities into four main areas:
-
Rest – sleeping and relaxing
-
Productivity – learning, working, and completing outcome-based activities
-
Leisure – doing things for fun
-
Self-care – looking after the body and mind
When working with children and young people, Occupational Therapists focus on understanding whether a child can:
-
Do what they want to do – exploring motivation and interests
-
Play – the foundation for learning and developing skills
-
Do what they need to do – building functional abilities for daily life
At Look Hear Australia, we ask ourselves a few key questions when supporting every child:
-
What does this child need to do to play, learn, develop, and grow?
-
What’s getting in the way of them being able to do it?
-
Where do they need to do it — at home, school, or in the community?
-
Who do they need to do it with — parents, siblings, peers, or teachers?
Our goal is to help children participate fully in their daily lives — building confidence, independence, and joy in the process.
What is Psychology?
Psychology is the study of the mind and human behaviour. Psychologists work across many areas, including cognition, development, health, social behaviour, learning, and clinical practice.
When working with children and young people, Clinical Psychologists focus on understanding how a child:
-
Manages their emotions
-
Behaves across different settings
-
Thinks about themselves and the world around them
-
Interacts with others
At Look Hear Australia, our Clinical Psychologist takes a holistic approach — working to assess, diagnose, and support behavioural, emotional, and mental health concerns.
The goal is to develop a clear understanding of what’s contributing to the child’s challenges and to guide families toward strategies that foster growth, resilience, and wellbeing.
